Description
Two live Country Music bands playing on the last friday of each month except December. Over the years since it's inception in 1987 Northern Nashville Country Music Club (NNCMC) has built up a reputation as one of the most respected clubs on the country music scene, and has also gained the accolade for being one of the friendliest, a fact endorsed by artistes, guests and visitors alike. This could only have been achieved by the hard work and dedication of the committee, past and present, along with the continued support of our members.
Our club normally meets the last Friday of the month in the The Royal British Legion Clubrooms, Riverside, Thurso. Doors open at 7.00pm, the support band starts the entertainment at 8.00pm followed by the main act. Both do a short cabaret spot followed by two dancing ones.
Sadly in today's climate many clubs up and down the country have been forced to close their doors, however NNCMC continues to grow, introducing our members to all genres of country music and showcasing top acts.
In 2004 we took a gamble and ran our first ever Northern Nashville Caithness Country Music Festival (NNCCMF), which thankfully was a great success. Over the years it has gone from strength to strength, with country music fans converging on Caithness over Easter Weekend to be part of this 3-day 5-show extravaganza of live country music. This is truly an international event featuring top class acts from the USA, Canada, Europe, Ireland and the U.K. alongside our wealth of local talent and youth bands.
