Enjoyed a fabulous 'Hanna Somatics' workshop with the inspirational Monica Dare at the weekend reminding us how using our breath to let go of tension in our bodies can be so effective. Although we do a lot of breath work in my Healthy Steps classes and with clients too Mon emphasised the importance of slowing down even further to contract our soft tissue as we inhale and release ultra slowly on exhalation allowing for a deeper, more long term relaxation of the tissue.
