There has been a significant amount of interest in the senseless use of single use plastic items and the huge environmental issues this contributes to. There are simple things we can all do to change our habits and help cut down on this waste, therefore as a first step the Scalloway Boating Club will no longer have single use plastic drinking straws in the bar. We will also do away with plastic cutlery from any events held in the club. Your cooperation in supporting this and any other initiatives to eliminate single use plastics would be much appreciated

To get you in the mood for Christmas we will be showing Elf at The Scalloway Boating Club! Jonny will be making cocktails as well as mulled wine, eggnog and spiked hot chocolate with assistance from Josy who will be providing homemade mince pies and gingerbread! It's on tea-time Saturday so come along before you head out (you are welcome to have cocktails even if you don't want to watch the film)! *FREE ENTRY* *COCKTAIL MENU TO FOLLOW*

SBC sea angling buffet Prize Giving at the Club on Saturday 18th November - Doors open 7 for 7:30. Music to follow from Lyndons Disco from 9:30. Members & Guests welcome - tickets at door.

Please note that the Club will be closed on Monday evenings for the winter months untill May 2018. Also, our opening time for Saturdays is now 12.30. Also, any member who would be willing to do an occasional bar duty at the Club, please let a Committee member know - the more who could do an occasional shift the better!
