Description
C.A.T.S is based in Rugby, Warwickshire and offers dance classes in ballet, tap, modern jazz and stage, gymnastics and musical theatre. Christine Anderson Theatre School (C.A.T.S.)
CATS are Registered with the excellent Examining bodies of the R.A.D. Ballet (Royal Academy of Dance); and the I.D.T.A. (International Dance Teachers Association) for Ballet, Modern Jazz, Tap & Theatre Craft. We have a Safeguard Policy, and all Teachers have DBS, First Aid, and full official Dance qualifications.
Our basic classes all INCLUDE – BALLET, MODERN JAZZ, THEATRE CRAFT, TAP, and GYMNASTIC AGILITIES.
Dance is taught on a kind of building block system called Grades, starting with PREPARATORY, & PRIMARY (from 4 – 6 years) then on to Grades 1 – 5 and then (6, 7, & 8 Ballet only) and on to Majors! We follow the Graded syllabus in Ballet, Modern Jazz, Theatre Craft, & Tap.
The children are always excited and highly motivated to take their Exams and move on! We are proud to share your enjoyment of their achievements!
New Parents are welcome to attend 1 or 2 classes initially to see if your child will join in, but then once Registered, asked to leave as quickly as possible so that the class can begin!!!
Our CATS uniform is compulsory so that all the children have a feeling of belonging and are part of the Team!
We are looking for children with potential who want to perform, and commitment from their Parents, as opportunities abound!

If you're looking for something to do over the Easter holidays - you could come and see Jack Jones play James in Rugby Theatre's next production. Jack shares the role with Evie Parker's big brother, Archie. Jack is performing in both the matinee and evening shows on the first Saturday, then on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday evenings - Archie takes over on the Wednesday evening and the matinee on the last Saturday. Ella Rogers and Evie and Poppy Goodwin are also flying the CATS' flag for us in the children's ensemble along with Livvy Back's cousin and Jenny's mum Gill Pratt as one of the evil aunts! 😊
