Spring Pools Carp Fishery
Description
Spring Pools Carp Fishery has been known as "Rugby's best kept secret" and has only in recent years been known about by more than a select few anglers. Regarded as the "Redmire of Rugby", Spring Pools Carp Fishery has been known by local anglers as one of those small venues that will have you rubbing your hands together when you first see it (and the fish swimming around in the little over an acre of water), but most of the time, will leave you pulling your hair out!
The pool is home to fish to upper 20's at time of writing, and has a lake record of a little over 32lb. Due to losing 3 of the largest fish in the lake to predation, the pool has now been completely fenced off with otter fencing and lockable solid 6' gates to protect the old original fish and the recent stockies from further predation issues.
The pool itself holds 5 sculptured swims which are flattened and bark chipped to offer a comfortable area to situate your bivvy/brolly as well as your rods. The bank side foliage is managed by Steve Perkins (the owner) to keep a natural feel to the water and in summer you could not be in a more picturesque place.
The newly stocked fish are close to double figures and are just as tricky to catch as the originals already! Each of the "stockies" have been hand picked and are of a fantastic looking scaly strain. When these fish reach 20lb, they will be absolute stunners and in line with the original fish.
Booking in advance is essential. All bookings run from 1pm to 1pm unless otherwise agreed with the Owner.
Please call Steve Perkins on 07582048898 to check availability of swims, to book or to arrange viewing.
Summer Day Ticket Prices (April 1st to October 31st) - £10 per 12 hours
Winter Day Ticket Prices (November 1st to March 31st) - £7.50 per 12 hours
Rules are common sense:
* The "clubhouse" situated between Swims 1 and 2 is there to be used, not abused. Anglers are too leave the "clubhouse" in a clean and tidy state and to remove all rubbish when they leave. The "clubhouse" is a privilege and can be closed to all anglers without notice should it not be respected. Anglers fishing swims 4 or 5 should reel their rods in before using the "clubhouse" due to the distance.
*Minimum 15lb line.
*Leadcore is permitted but MUST be fished in a safe manner where the hooklink can come off the leader should a line breakage occur. This means that leadcore or other leader material should be used with helicoptor rigs (where the top bead can easily come off and pass over the joining leader knot or preferably use Korda's No-Trace Leadcore Safety System) or with one of the new generation of leadclip's such as PB Products Hit & Run system or Gardner Tackle's Multi Clip system where the hooklink can come off the leader on a breakage. Please do not use leadcore or leaders with normal type lead clips or running rigs as even though the lead may discharge, the fish is still towing a leader with it.
