Well spring is definitely.....apologies for the radio silence.. Some of you may know that the main clinic has moved. The reason being, that we had been involved in two separate RTAs whilst commuting on our beloved hondas, in December and March So common sense and with more traffic due, our own safety and longevity is paramount. That aside, the injuries could have been alot worse. I actually learnt alot more about my own body and its ability to heal. Which has been surprisingly better than when I had my leg rebuild from semi pro rugby days. Even hit some Pbs recently..... So this really highlights, with good processes, knowledge and goals, we can all achieve things....regardless of what life throws at you. Simply put, whether your recovering, healing or growing into something new. Treat it like algebra.....a simple equation, which we have to find what factors are most importsnt for each individual client A+B=C So, look after yourselves and any registered clients.....please make sure your recommendations, mention your name on their first appt. Theres a great spring offer at the moment. Every Second Counts

Yes! Some lovely sunshine......followed by the sequel of "beast from the east". So make sure you wrap up warm and be more aware of the unstable ground. Recent competitions and events have shown more injuries/damage from the damp/wet/muddy/icey conditions. So dont fall into that trap. With the cold.....its good time to practise breathing. We focus so much on outputs such as training/mobility, or inputs such as nutrition/sleep. Never forget the processes....such as breathing. Every part of our body is vying for oxygen......for recovery, healing, growth and perfromance. Check out http://www.icemanwimhof.com/wim-hof-exercises Surprising, just practising some of these tips, can suddenly change how your body responds. Have a great weekend everybody Every Second Counts

Some fantastic results from competitiors and rehab clients recently. Hopefully this cold spell aka BEAST OF THE EAST, will be the last. Then all the progress and recovery efforts can be maximised by everyone. In the meantime, be proactive with protocol and dont become reactive to any problems which can lead to regression or damage. PPPPP = Proper Planning Prevents Poor Performance Thanks to all the recommendations and effort by our clients. Some exciting news to come next month!! Well spring is sneaking back slowly.....even though there is some glorious sun about. The ground has become very mushy and unstable. Combined with low temperatures.....this seems to have lead to an increase in minor tweaks and injuries....not just from sport competitions, but general outdoor activities aswell. This link below, (thanks to "rethinking physiotherapy" and Dr C Burgess) summarises healing scales for various scenarios. The location of the damage and history of workload will also influence these times. The main message from this source, is about consistency with healing, and persistency. Also understanding that each body will react differently, so optimizing healing and recovery requires practise, patience and team work (client+practitioner) Alot of competitions are coming up, so its just as important to prepare before and after the main event. Thanks to all our clients for the recent reviews, feedback and recommendations! Every Second Counts ——— A rough overview of tissue healing times. Made and written by Dr. Caleb Burgess DPT, OCS, CSCS. ・・・ ☝️ One of the most common issues I encounter when helping people recover from an injury or from surgery is of the healing times of various tissues. Everyone wants to be better NOW, but this isn’t realistic. Tissue healing takes TIME. We can’t rush it. And it’s important to understand that tissues heal at different rates depending on their physical makeup and blood supply, among other things. Additional contributing factors, such as diabetes, age, poor nutrition, inadequate rest, etc can further delay the healing process. . 📈 This chart shows the AVERAGE range of healing times for various tissues in the body, including different grades of tissue injury for muscles, tendons, and ligaments. It can serve not only as a guide but also a reminder that we can’t force our bodies to heal faster than physiologically possible. What we can do is OPTIMIZE the healing process by rehabbing appropriately, eating high quality food, getting adequate rest, and staying PATIENT and POSITIVE throughout the journey. •••••••••••• 📚 Axe MJ, et al. Well its been a hectic start to 2018. Many new year resolutions from clients, but also a surge in physical ailements and injury. Sounds simple......however, what we do to our bodies during the festive season can have a significant effect....postively or negatively. Too much alcohol, overexposure to cold/damp conditions, or catching the cold/oz flu, does not help. Whilst plenty of rest, eating properly and effective activity can benefit. Some of these things, can not be avoided. But they can be reactively and proactively dealt with. This awesome article really keeps things simple. https://www.aarp.org/health/alternative-medicine/info-11-2008/super_healing.html The triple threat is worth focusing on and managing. Consistency and stability is the key to recovering, correcting and maximising our physical potential! Thanks to all our registered clients for giving CHT vouchers as presents, to family and friends. Well there has been a super drop in temperatures.....which can lead to some regression in mobility programs. Especially if fundamental basics have been forgotten..... Well these two articles....one brief and the other very indepth. Show how drops in temperature can have significant impact on circulation, mobility, recovery and performance. https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC4843861/ http://m.huffingtonpost.co.uk/dr-niamh-okennedy/how-cold-weather-affects-_b_14200602.html Prevention is easier than the cure, however sometimes its not possible, due to work or lifesyle commitments. At CHT, we can definitely help, and consistency is crucial. Especially, as its going to only get colder by february.... Christmas Season Offer has started aswell. 1st consultation of 2hrs for £50.
