Also a reminder that pre season training starts next Tuesday 5th July at 6.30 at the pitch.
A good result tonight with a 4-3 win against 2nd placed Hayle reserves. A quite even 1st half with our pressing putting Hayle under pressure but they also were getting into some dangerous areas but we defended excellently to prevent them getting many shots on target. We took the lead when Stuart Lugg raced onto a through ball and calmly slotted the balk past the keeper. Hayle responded soon after when a corner wasn't cleared and the ball ended up in the despite our efforts to stop it going in. Half time 1-1 Into the 2nd half and we started well and scored 2 quick goals, the 1st a Josh Ireson penalty after Josh Holness was brought down and the second a lee Goldstone tap in after the Hayle keeper parried a James Winn volley. We were putting Hayle under a lot of pressure and a 4 th goal soon followed when Lee Goldstone grabbed his 2nd of the game. We were on top and should of seen the game out easily, but Hayle grabbed their 2nd goal with about 15 minutes left. The last 15 minutes were quite comfortable for our defence with Hayle not creating many chances but into stoppage time and after about a 5- 10 minute delay whilst the referee booked and sent off 2 Hayle players we were not concentrating and a shot from 25 yards from the Hayle forward crept into the net. Final score 4-3 to us A good way to finish our 1st season in division 2 Overall an excellent season as we finished 4th in the league and reached a cup final. COYL
Our last game of the season tonight when we welcome Hayle Reserves to tresavean for a 6.30 kick off. Let's finish off the season with a win.
Today is cup final day, we play Helston 3rds in the Lockhart Cup Final at Wendron with a 3 o clock kick off. It will be a tough game but we have the squad capable of winning the game. COYL.
Lockhart Cup semi final result. Hayle Reserves 1 Lanner 2. An excellent team performance from the 1st minute to the last. We didn't give Hayle anytime on the ball to play, closing them down in all areas of the pitch. We had an early chance to take the lead when we were awarded a penalty but Lee Goldstone had his kick saved by the Hayle keeper. It didn't take us long after this to take lead when a long throw from Josh Ireson was headed into the net by Lee Goldstone. We continued to control the game with Ralph Pascoe our keeper only having one save to make in the half. 1-0 up at half time. Into the 2nd half and we continued to press and hassle Hayle into making mistakes, we doubled our lead when substitute Josh Holness headed the ball through and Stuart Lugg raced onto it and slotted the ball past the keeper into the net. Hayle responded straight away when a cross into our box wasn't cleared and Lee Roskruge put the ball into his own net giving Hayle a lifeline they didn't deserve with about 20 minutes left. But we held on and should of increased our lead but the Hayle keeper made a couple of decent saves. Final score 2-1 to us and into the final at Wendron on Sunday 22nd May.
Lockhart Cup semi final tonight against Hayle Reserves. Game is at tresavean with 6.15 kick off. Let's keep our unbeaten run going and get into the final.
Just had email from league. Cup semi final against Hayle is not at neutral ground, it is at our ground on Wednesday 11th may 6.15 kick off.
A good week so far with a comfortable 6-0 win against Holmans reserves on Tuesday, scorers Stuart Lugg 3, Josh Holness 1, Josh Ireson 1 and Lee Goldstone 1. Tonight we travelled to Culdrose reserves in the lockhart cup, a great start when goalkeeper Ralph Pascoe took a free kick from 70 yards and it sailed straight into the net, we were looking quite comfortable but culdrose equalised when a free kick was headed into the net. Half time 1-1. Nearly a perfect start to the 2nd half but a header from Stuart Lugg from Aaron Minall's cross struck the crossbar. Culdrose started to get on top after this and struck the crossbar twice in quick succession. We were defending superbly with Ralph hardly troubled. We took the lead again when Josh Ireson fed th ball to Stuart who hit a 1st time shot which the keeper could only parry and James Winn put the ball into the net. We wrapped the game up in the last minute when Stuart chased a long clearance and out jumped the keeper and Josh Ireson picked up the ball and put it in the net to wrap up an excellent 3-1 win and put us into the semi final where we will play Hayle. Back to league action on Saturday when we welcome Goonhavern reserves to tresavean. Let's finish the week off with another win.
After a good victory against Holmans reserves on Monday we welcome Storm to tresavean tomorrow for another tough fixture. Let's keep the good performances going and get another win.
A good solid performance tonight as we beat Holmans reserves 1-0. A few changes tonight with Ralph Pascoe starting in goal and a few other players who have only played a few games this season. We were comfortable in the 1st half with Ralph only having 1 shot to deal with which he tipped over the bar. We took the lead when Josh Holness chased a lost cause and put the keeper under pressure and the ball dropped to Stuart Lugg who went round the keeper and calmly put the ball into the net. We had a scare before half time when Holmans hit the bar but we scrambled the ball away. Into the 2nd half and it was quite comfortable again with Ralph only having to deal with crosses and long balls over the top, we never really troubled the Holmans keeper and held on for a deserved win. A good performance from everyone tonight with a few players standing out, Andrew bishop and James Winn in the centre of midfield, Ralph Pascoe in goal who dealt with everything comfortably and Ryan Counter in the centre of defence. Next game at home to Storm on Saturday.
