Top training tips 1 Have an empty mind ready to listen and try new things. Be willing to learn. Your investment is time and money. Be tacked up and a little warmed up for your session. Use your minutes wisely. 2 Know your horse, make a mental Note of what your struggling with so your trainer can help. Use your sessions wisely Write notes before and after- did you get what you need? 3 Maybe book a phone call lesson, lots of my clients do this once a month to get advice. 4 Question your training if your unsure but don’t blame others or your horse. The partnership may need time. What steps are you missing to get the foundations better 5 Consistency in training. Building solid foundations to your training. Your trainer isn’t a miracle worker, we expect you to do your homework. One or two lessons a month are great top ups but sleepovers / boot camps are good too. Weekly lessons see the biggest improvement. 6 Loyalty counts- look after your trainer, they want the best for you and your horse. Watch them ride, compete and learn about their system. There are no quick fix’s. 7 Make time with your trainer to work on your plan, regionals/Petplans or your first Intro Test. Have a clear method to make it happen. What steps do you have in place to make it happen. Above all it’s a partnership between horse rider and a trainer wanting to see you achieve your dreams

Fin and I had a fab flatwork lesson this afternoon! Fin and I had a dressage lesson with our instructor tonight after ages of not having any tuition!
