News on the van .. it has now been opened by Louis's tearooms on the lay-by at the bottom of Kit Hill. They are selling baguettes, bacon rolls, pasties, burgers and cake. So next time you are passing why not give them a look. It's good to know the van is still in the area.

Van now sold and would like to say thankyou to everyone who supported Ariel's Asian Kitchen. Ariel is still in Phillipines where his restaurant La Westview opened beginning of December. His personal page is now Aye Pone Molina if you have any messages for him. The van hasn't gone far.. just across the border to Cornwall near to Callington to its new owner. When it's open I will post a link. Meanwhile do try Pond's @kitchen on top floor of Plymouth central market for very delicious Vietnamese food (Its where I go) and she has new specials from yesterday.. Van is up for sale, here are some photos of the inside when it was first fitted out last spring. Good opportunity for someone. The business is ow closed, hOwever the customer list still exists and it wouldn't take much to be back up and operating as before. MOT to July 2017 and Gas Certificate to 2017. For all those missing the Asian flavours. Two days ago saw a story on BBC website about the launch of new Asian range of ready meals from Marks and Spencer. Thai, Malaysian and Korean meals, very reasonable prices. Maybe the Plymouth branch will stock them. (Christina)

Happy to promote Chef John Arelleno has cafe 21 at Cornwall Street in Plymouth. He is doing some amazing cakes ..I had the white chocolate and mango one, a sort of cross between mousse and icecream. Delicious. He trained on a top cruise line with some of the world's top patisserie chefs and you are in for a treat. Other food available..breakfast, regular lunch food...Reasonably priced..do give it a go if you are in town. You wont be disappointed with the cakes.

ARIELS ASIAN KITCHEN continues to be closed. If anyone wants some delicious Asian food I suggest you try out the new cafe on the top floor of Plymouth market during the day time. the lady chef has recently come down from London and cooks Thai and Vietnamese food. Just the place for lunch.

ARIELS ASIAN KITCHEN open from 6pm tonight, Friday, at Bere Alston Bowling Club, just inside the gate from the road, just outside Bere Alston village on main road from Tavistock. Please come along and support Ariel tonight as it may well be the last night for the van for a while as Ariel is making a trip to the Phillipines due to family illness. I now he will want to say farewell to all of his regular customers and some more infrequent ones too..and if you have heard about the van and not tried the food yet get down there. Sun is shining and its lovely outside...Plenty of space to bring your picnic table and chairs too if you want to...Hoping that it is only Au Revoir Ariel and that you will be back in the autumn to cook on the van again. Meanwhile watch this space for new of future activities...

ARIELS ASIAN KITCHEN...never mind the weather ...its getting better over next few days and will even be sunny by end of the weekend. THURSDAY this week the van will be open with barbecue. This was really popular last week so if you missed it now is your chance. Also Ariel will be going back to the Phillipines for a visit in August so this may be your last chance to have food cooked by him for a while...make sure you don't miss out this week.
