The Visitor Centre is now officially open. Cafe 1899 serves hot and cold drinks and a range of foods from breakfast to brunch.

Mon - Fri - 9am - 4pm
Sat/Sun - 8.30am - 4pm
GETTING TO THE PARK
By car
There are two permanent car parks:
Spring Lane on the northern side of the park
Lambley Lane recreation ground to the south east - 50 spaces.
The route into the park from the recreation ground involves crossing stiles so people with mobility problems or pushchairs should use Spring Lane car park.
BY BUS
Nottingham City Transport run buses that go close to the two main entrances of the park.
Sky Blue 47 (Spring Lane entrance)
Red 44 (Lambley Lane entrance)

Here it is! The new memorial statue. The statue has been designed by local artist Richard Janes and was inspired by a picture of the underground Palm Tree junction on the former colliery site and symbolises the origin of coal and the flames reflect that coal was used to create fire and heat homes. We think it looks fantastic and congratulations to the Friends of Gedling Country Park who applied for the funding from Nottinghamshire County Council

Today is the 26th anniversary of the last ever shift on Gedling Colliery. Last year we had a special event to commemorate the 25th anniversary. We expected 50 men to come, over 200 came along and made it a memorable event for everyone. Here's the news story from the day...
