Providing meals, activities and days out. Through the Summer Holiday Hunger project, 'A Day Out Not a Hand Out.' (Check out our Facebook page facebook.com/ADayOutNotaHandOut) Funded by The Big Lottery Fund. We are back, and it's Tuesday which means one thing...It's, 'Kid's 50p Teas.' This week there's fish fingers, mash and baked beans. All for 50p, from 4pm.

You're back to school, and we are getting back to it too. For September we're phasing back into action. (Our Big Relaunch will be in October.) So like today we are open for our 50p Kids meals, today's scran is Corned Beef Pie, "Scrummy and delicious!" From 4-5pm. Before that today we're open from 2pm, for the bigger kids ( = parents) out there. Champion

*FREE SUMMER LUNCH CLUBS AND ACTIVITIES IN BYKER - SIGN UP NOW AS PLACES ARE GOING FAST* We are running a programme of lunch and activities Monday-Thursday for the first four weeks of the school holidays - including trips to Beamish and Susan's Farm, sports, crafts, games, consoles and cookery sessions. Today from 9:30am. The Healthworks are running their free, "Love Food, Hate Waste." A course to help you make best use of your leftovers and food waste. 9:30am, Cross Café, 2 Raby Cross, Byker

PLEASE SHARE: SESSIONAL EMPLOYMENT IN BYKER THIS SUMMER- We are running a holiday lunch club in the first four weeks of the school holidays and are looking to employ some sessional workers locally to supervise kids and help serve food. Details TBC but provisionally four hours a day, Monday to Thursday. Food hygiene training included as well as payment. Please share with anyone you know who might be interested. After the success of our previous holiday lunch clubs at The Cross Cafe, we want to do more this summer to see school holiday hunger made into a thing of the past in Byker. Exciting plans are already underway!

BACK TOMORROW...50p Tuesdays! Tomorrow's after school meal is mince and dumplings, with mash and carrots. 50p with a drink for kids, £1 for adults...BARGAIN. Come and get yourselves warmed up from 4-5pm! Also, NEW OPENING HOURS starting tomorrow....we'll now be open 2-5pm. Please share with anyone you know who'd be interested!
