We are a large Primary Academy in Tameside and part of the Great Academies Trust.
At Silver Springs we want everyone to shine! We believe that every child has something to offer and that they should be encouraged to share that gift or talent and by doing so encourage others to do the same.
Silver Springs is a school that opens doors for children. From the very beginning in the Foundation Stage, right through until children leave for high school we will provide children with unforgettable experiences that open doors to the wider world, leaving them itching to know more and eager to learn, inspiring them to achieve great things and become great citizens; building the best possible future for the community in which they live.

SCIENCE WEEK 2018 - Faster, Higher, Stronger! This year, we are linking our science week activities to the Winter Olympics. Across the school, we will be covering different aspects of the Primary Science curriculum - the human body, health and fitness and forces. Of course, science week wouldn’t be science week without our Science Roadshow to share our learning with the rest of the family. This will be taking place after school in the Main Hall on Thursday 15th March 2018. As usual, you know we like all the family to get involved and so here is this year’s family challenge:- The ‘Eddie The Eagle Jump’ Challenge – Who can make a skier jump the furthest? Your task is to build a ski jump and make a skier slide down it. You can use any materials you like to make your slope and you can either make your skier or use a model person (eg a lego person). Think about the friction between the surface of your slope and the skis which your skier will be stood on. Bring your slope and skier into school on Thursday 15th March and we will hold a competition during the roadshow to see whose skier jumps the furthest!

WORLD BOOK DAY celebrations and dressing up will now take place this Friday 9th March 2018. We look forward to seeing everyone's fantastic costumes!
