Supercharged 106 GTI on Emerald K3 ECU. This little Pug races in the 750mc Road Sports championship. Our customer brought it in to check the current power and see how the setup was doing after a seasons racing. 2015 Ford Transit Custom (100ps) on the Alive Dyno. As standard, it made 96.9bhp and 358Nm torque, which quite frankly for this engine, which is identical to the 125 and 155ps models, is pathetic! We had this Citroen DS3 1.6 THP (155hp 240Nm) on our dyno today. Now tuned to Stage 1 spec, the car made a respectable gain of +20hp and +60Nm over standard, giving 175hp and 300Nm. Although the DS3 has the same engine as the more powerful R56 Mini Cooper S, the Citroen has a smaller turbo which ultimately restricts the engines potential. Prior to today's dyno testing, the car has had new timing gear fitted and a service. We've also walnut blasted the inlet ports as at 17,500 miles, they were quite shocking! Two tanks of V-Power later, and we're ready to start the tuning process. We'd previously opened the Ecu to read the factory calibration and to fit a Spiderboot, so any changes can be quickly flashed to the Ecu via the OBD port. It soon became apparent that the inlet air temps were getting way too hot, mostly I suspect due to the small turbo fitted to the 155. Looking at the dyno graph here, there's notable steps where the inlet temps cause the ignition to retard more and...

Alive's last remap of 2015 and it's a beauty! An immaculate BMW 120d Sport, previously tuned locally, but had some horrid quirks. We reverted the mapping back to original state and started again from scratch, making the car much nicer to drive, and with only a very slight decrease in peak power. Fuel economy will now be much better too! Interestingly, most of the map locations that were tuned previously, we left as stock, only focusing on the areas that really matter.
