The fishery has a reputation as one of the premier commercial fisheries in the UK, it now offers onsite fishing tuition and snack bar overlooking the lakes Tylers Common has established a reputation as one of the premier commercial fisheries in the South East attracting many famous vistors such as Bob Nudd, Matt Hayes and to sample the superb fishing on offer.

The fishery has featured in dozens of magazine articles from specimen Bream angling to prolific winter match fishing.

The Learn to Fish Carp Academy offer fishing tuition at Tylers for Under 16's and adults who want to learn to fish or improve. Call Steve on 07535139632 to book a session.

At Tylers you can catch 3lb Roach to 30lb Carp, 9lb Barbel to 12lb Bream or 200 lbs+ bags of carp off the surface.

There are brick built flush toilet facilities on site.
Refreshments and quality food are available from the snack bar that operates Tuesday to Sunday  

There are 4 lakes on this beautifully landscaped 25 acre site.
Wagtail Specimen Lake : Mirror & Common Carp to 30lbs Barbel 5lb+ Bream 8lb+ Tench 9lb+ Crucian carp and many more species

Ash, Willow: Carp to 11lb+
Willow and Ash are very similar with 25 permanent pegs on each and depths from two feet in the margins to five feet, seven metres from the bank.
The highest winning 6 hour match weight to date is 426lbs 4oz, mostly Carp and Tench .

Horseshoe Lake
Is a unique 60 pegs lake, with depths from 2 feet to 5 feet.

Each peg has it’s own island to fish to 15 metres from the bank , making this a very fair match venue.
Winning match weights to 395lbs a variety of fish, Roach, Rudd, Crucians,Tench, Bream, Perch, Carp, Barbel and some Ornamental Fantails. Perch to over 4lb and Carp exceeding 20lb.


Night Fishing is NOT permitted at Tylers Common Fishery but you can Night Fish at our other Lakes in Braintree or Cambridge

Our Lakes can be booked for club matches or corporate days.
Strictly no fish are to be removed from any of our lakes, those who do will be prosecuted.


Barbless Hooks only
Unhooking mats required for all lakes
Do not stand up when holding a fish  
Ground Bait a max of 1kg per person in matches
Keepnets are only allowed in organised matches
Keepnets must be a minimum of 10ft
No fish to be retained for longer than 6 hours.
Children under the age of 16 must be accompanied by an adult.
No dogs are allowed on the fishery at any time.
All persons entering onto or parking at Tylers Common Fishery do so at their own risk.
Strictly NO OPEN FIRES or disposable Barbeques.
No Litter to be left on site.
