Congratulations to outstanding pianist Martin James Bartlett, who has been announced as the recipient of the RCM's Benjamin Britten Piano Fellowship for 2020–21!
Application deadlines for many of our courses for 2021 entry are approaching. Applications for auditions in London, Composers, Conductors and video auditions should be submitted to UCAS Conservatoires by 1 October. The deadline for submitting your video audition to the RCM is 19 October. Performers planning to audition in Hong Kong, Singapore, Bangkok or New York should apply using UCAS Conservatoires by 15 November. Find out more at www.rcm.ac.uk/apply

In Focus: short film series to immerse music-lovers in classical performance begins today
Our brand new film series, In Focus, begins today! In it, we highlight different aspects of performance at the RCM, taking a closer look at some of our wonderful instruments, performers and musical history. Tune in on Facebook at 7pm tonight to watch the first instalment, which shows our Kennedy-Mietke harpsichord in all its glory, including performances by RCM musicians.
In Focus: The Kennedy-Mietke Harpsichord
Discover the world of the RCM's brand new harpsichord by Bruce Kennedy, with performances and insights from members of the RCM. Harpsichordists Tolga Atalay Ün (Mills Williams Junior Fellow) and Dominika Maszczyńska (Fellow in Historical Keyboards) perform two preludes and fugues from the second set of Bach’s The Well-Tempered Clavier: the D minor BWV 875 and the G major BWV 884.

We're coming to the end of a great Welcome Week, that's included online faculty meet and greets, socially-distanced campus tours, and a rather amusing episode of RCMSU Taskmaster...
