Hear it from herself: 1) Why the Warehouse? “My friends told me about Warehouse, I was needing a new hobby and they always told me about how much fun they had whilst working out. It seemed like a great place to go, get fit and have fun whilst doing it!” 2) What are your goals? “I generally would like to be a bit fitter, to feel healthier and more comfortable in myself. “ 3) Biggest achievement to date at the Warehouse? “I now feel a lot stronger, healthier and most importantly I am a lot happier. A BIG weekend once more for the novice and intermediate strongman/woman! Following on from the success of our 2016/2017 competitions! This event is designed for anyone who would like an introduction to the strongman/woman world to anyone with experience who wants to claim the official title of LINCOLNS STRONGEST MAN/WOMAN 2018! If you have never competed before but fancy giving it a go, this is the competition for you! There will be experienced competitors helping out on the day, giving advice, so don't worry if you feel you're jumping in at the deep end! Saturday will be for the women, with NOVICE, U75kg and Openweight classes. Sunday will be for the men, with NOVICE, U105kg and Openweight classes! Entry fee will be £25. Includes an event t-shirt and trophies for 1st , 2nd and 3rd place. Spaces are only confirmed by payment. **Important Message** (And Member shoutout 😊 Dan) Question: “Why do you want to eat well and exercise?” Answer: “I just want to lose some timber and look better with no top on” And that is a totally acceptable response 👍 However let’s look beyond the superficial aspects of how we look and the number on the scales... Exercise and Eating Well Will Help: 💔 Reduce the risk of cardio vascular disease 📉 Improve health markers such as blood pressure and cholesterol 👍 Reduce the risk of diabetes 🍖 Improve bone health (osteoporosis etc) 🧠 Improve cognitive function and decision making (performance at work) 💪 Reduce the effects of muscle loss as we age (reduced chance of falls etc) 🤬 Reduce Stress (improve mental health) 😴 Improve Sleep And lots of other amazing things!!! It not always that obvious what’s going on and it’s WAY beyond how you look! Huge Shout Out To Dan: He often works 7 days a week, with young kids and a family to support. Most would say they have no time... He makes it to training at 5:45am🙏 For Dan it’s about improving strength and giving his kids a run for their money as they get older. Being fit, strong and healthy... SIT IN AN OFFICE ALL DAY THEN GO TO THE GYM? DO THIS! 💯 The Romanian deadlift is a “weapon” in regards to keeping your back healthy. However, so many either do it wrong or don’t do it enough. Start light, focus on feeling the back of the legs and your glutes (ass) first. Once you move, as shown in the video, increase the weight progressively. Why do this? If you sit down a lot your posture deteriorated over time. Your glutes become weaker and the hamstrings get tighter. All muscle groups that are used in the Romanian Deadlift. MEET TINA Age: 31 Occupation: Secondary Teacher Q) Why the Warehouse? A) After being a member of another local gym for a few years, my enthusiasm with exercise in general was beginning to fade. After firmly sticking to the cardio section and not seeing the results I wanted I was inspired by an advert showing women lifting in the Warehouse. Their strength and the values shown in this this clip gave me confidence to attend and I haven’t looked back since. The Bootcamp sessions are delivered by coaches who are truly passionate and dedicated to helping you achieve your goals alongside a bit of banter which you need when you are being pushed to your limits! Q) What are your goals? A) My goals are to tone up for my wedding this year but more importantly to become stronger. Q) Biggest achievement to date at the Warehouse? A) My biggest achievement has to be the fact that I have now lifted more than my bodyweight and for someone who was incredibly weak beforehand this is a big personal step for me. I am also really pleased with my muscle definition in my arms and legs and can I say my bum is beginning to lift and get a nicer shape! Q) Advice for those thinking of training at the Warehouse? A) Do it…you won’t regret it! Throw yourself into it and you will reap the benefits. The support, equipment and environment are the best you will find.
