Silverburn Park
Description
Fife Employment Access Trust's vision for a Centre for Wellbeing in Fife, located within Silverburn Park We are working to restore the B-listed former flax mill to house a hostel, cafeteria and meeting space. This is a large and complex piece of work. We have appointed Fife Historic Buildings Trust to lead the planning and project management of what this work will entail, and this part of the project has been generously supported by the Architectural Heritage Fund (www.ahfund.org.uk) and the William Grant Foundation, as well as variety of support from a range of Fife Council services.
In the interim we are working with volunteers and a variety of organisations to improve the woodland and garden areas of Silverburn.
From Spring/Summer 2018 we will be open for camping, with spaces for campervans as well. We will also have allotments in place for the Spring and are planning a number of community consultations for ideas about more community activities. Our 2018 Music Festival is also scheduled for 28 & 29 July - further information at the dedicated silverburnfestival facebook page.
You can help our cause through volunteering, sponsorship or financial donations. You can text SILVERBURN 5 to 70085 to donate £5 to the cause (or SILVERBURN 10, SILVERBURN 15 or SILVERBURN 20) for £10, £15 or £20

facebook.comBig thank you to David, our new Silverburn Squad Supervisor, and to park assistants Aaron, Stephanie and Mark. They worked together this week to refurbish the vintage signpost and clear leaves near the car park.😊
We've been working hard to improve the Park for some time now and evidence of the benefits spotted this morning - ducks paddling in the burn! That's a great vote of confidence for our efforts from our new feathered-friends!
There is a problem with quad bikes and motorcycles across the Levenmouth area. They are driving off road at high speed and eventually someone will be seriously hurt. They are also causing damage to the top lawn in Silverburn Park and to the path network, and pose a risk to walkers. The advice from Police Scotland is to report all incidents involving quad bikes and motorbikes to the non-emergency number 101 with as full a description of the machine and the rider as possible. This will allow the Police to build up a picture of the activity and identify the riders so that action can be taken against them. We have already taken some measures to improve the barriers around the path network and will look at anything else we can do to make it as difficult as possible for these menaces.
Another busy day at the Park!

The meeting was very productive and those in attendance had the chance to learn more about what is planned at Silverburn over the next few years and explore the role the Friends group will have in supporting this. Our next meeting will be held on Tuesday 27th February at the Centre in Leven at 7pm to which everyone who has an interest in seeing the Friends group develop is warmly invited. The minutes of the meeting are below - if any of you would like further information, don't hesitate to get in touch!
