Today's brekkie ... nice and easy. 3 x whole eggs, spinach and red onion with a sprinkle of mixed seeds. I absolutely love boiled eggs. I got asked the other day do I have eggs everyday and is it bad for me? Yes I do pretty much have them everyday. A lot of people think that eggs will raise cholesterol because of their cholesterol content HOWEVER cholesterol in the diet doesn't necessarily mean that cholesterol in the blood is raised. Your body actually produces cholesterol in the liver. Diet and lifestyle can affect the amount circulated in our blood and alter the ratio of good to bad. Cholesterol can be increased by: - eating a diet high in saturated fats - not being physically active - being overweight / obese - smoking - having a large waist circumference. Limiting dietary cholesterol intake is important but the real problem comes from consuming Saturated fats and trans fats which eggs are fairly low in. Eggs contain protein which is easily absorbed and efficiently used by the body. Lutein & Zeaxanthin - phytochemicals found in the yolk. Also found in kale and spinach. Reduce risk of eye diseases! Vitamin D - Important for bones and teeth! Eggs are nutritious and have their benefits and they are fairly low in calories with one whole egg around 70 calories. Last minute decision to go gym last night but I'm liking training late on a Saturday. The gym is ALWAYS empty, it's like a playground! Here are some of the exercises I did. Lots of barbell bits! I LOVE this kind of training! 1st circuit: -Overhead walking lunges - Dumbell Clean n press - Single arm landmine press - Barball rotation and press - Ab Drag 2nd circuit: - Landmines - Barbell clean and press - Battle Ropes - Tyre flips - Reverse crunches Finished with alternating of skipping 2 mins and running 2 mins on treadmill. I find steady cardio very boring so like to mix it up - so this finisher worked well! I slept like a log last night. Best nights sleep I've had in a long while!! Give this workout a try! I always warm up and perform mobility drills before.

Look at those chips! Made in my Breville Halo Plus! Such a good bit of kit. These took 30 minutes. All I used was white potato chopped into chips and a tsp of Extra Virgin Olive Oil and voila! Great little purchase in Lidl today! Comes with a cute little mat too for the knees! ☺ Let's hope it fits in my rucksack with all my other goodies! This wheel is fantastic to work the core. Not only does it work the rectus abdominus (the so called 6 pack on the front) but it works the deeper transverse abdominus muscles, the obliques with also bringing some upper body in too. Improving your core strength creates a solid base for your body, it improves stabilisation, helps to protect spine, allows you to stand up nice and straight and prevents injury! Morning everyone! Last night I WANTED something sweet. I'm not currently tracking my calories or macros but I am aware of them and "eating well" and making "good choices". I am not restricting myself and I am eating the things I want. I decided to make myself a small bowl of fruit & dark chocolate. This consisted of blueberries, raspberries, pineapple & 2 squares of 85% dark chocolate. Fruit should be eaten as part of a healthy balanced diet, do not be scared of eating it because of the word "sugar", it contains vitamins, minerals and not forgetting fibre which help with the digestion system! Next time you're craving something sweet, stop and think, opt to have something like this instead of reaching for that biscuit or chocolate bar. Had a great day today training clients followed by a day with the little sis @amyatt_87 finished off with a quick push session this evening - gym was dead just how I like it.
