We rescue and nurture ponies who in turn provide mindful interaction with children providing positive outcomes. In year 2000 my mum retired from running our Bed and Breakfast business and she had lots of time on her hands so she started rescuing horses & ponies and turning their life experience and opinions of people around.
Because these horses have been abused and now have learned to trust and love again they can relate to people/children who also need to learn to trust and love again. They understand much more than we humans do!
Our horses are very happy and know that they belong to us but we know that their experiences  help and encourage some children to love, be loved and therefore improve their self esteem.
We now work with Hope for Autism, where the children on the ASD come and groom/care for the ponies and benefit from the their calm presence. The results are amazing.

Fabulous 1st week of Block 3 From young people who normally show no positive emotion, melting and falling in love with Toots. To a scared little girl who was desperate to touch Bertie then plucked up the courage within 30 minutes to groom him a little. Huge achievements already. Massive impact on week 1 !!! #ponieshelpchildren #lovewhatwedo #makeadifference

PHC SUMMER CAMP 2019 (trial) Now to show you the photos that didn’t make last weeks posts!!! The first few are of ‘Misty’ rolling!!! This was day 2 when our volunteers were the ponies. The wee person looking after ‘Misty’ let her go and Misty took advantage 🤣🤣🤣🤣 The last 2 are when Heather got a shot of the ‘gymkhana’ games, but she had to ‘stop’ Ryan winning/cheating so she decided to try to push him over!! Very good example she is!! 🤣🤣🤣

Day 5 -last day PHC SUMMER CAMP (trial) Today was our last day and the weather wasn’t kind!!! That didn’t stop us, funnily enough we had wet weather plans!🤣 The children started with cleaning the ponies bedrooms, then we brought the wet ponies in. Whilst the ponies dried, the children drew their pony portraits. Great fun and again lots of concentration. Then we finished with one to one time pony time before certificates were distributed!!! All in all the trial camp has been a great success and we look forward to building on this year’s experiences. Well done team PHC ❤️

Day 4 PHC SUMMER CAMP 2019 (trial) Fabulous day here again with our little people. Started with grooming, then some pony games, then hide and seek!!! The rules were hide with your helper and Heather will find you. 🤣 We were concerned if we let the children hide in their own we would never find them!!! Absolutely brilliant, the giggles did help though!! 🤣🤣🤣
