We Are Able | When inventive technologies re-design the future of fashion
‘Mouldy’ t-shirts may sound strange, but a range of fungal fashions from PhD student Ninela Ivanova are certainly creating a buzz. Ninela’s PhD in Design Research looked into using fungi as potential media for fashion and textiles fabrication. “Mould Perceptions was a creativity-led participatory workshop to explore how novel, yet obscure materials, fungi being an example in point, could be introduced to the high-street market,” explained Ninela. Ninela will be exhibiting some of her ‘mouldy’ t-shirts and fungi for textiles experiments in Paris this week at Weareable Fashiontech Festival.

Susie Chan's World Record attempt
Ultra runner Susie Chan made national headlines when she broke the world record for longest distance run on a treadmill in 12 hours (female).
