Cancellations /No Shows / Missed Appointments We very much hope that you do not need to cancel your grooming appointment but if you do, please give us as much notice as possible, we are a small business and ‘no shows’ can have a detrimental effect on us, as staff are booked in on the basis of the number of dogs we have due in each day and therefore staff still need to be paid. if we have enough notice (more than 24 hours) we may be able to fill your appointment slot. Cancellation charges are as follows. Arriving 30 minutes or more late for appointments will in most cases require re-scheduling and a missed appointment fee of 50% of total groom cost will apply. More than 24 hours cancellation notice - No charge Less than 24 hours cancellation notice - 50% of groom cost & any further appointments required will need to be paid in full in advance at time of booking plus cancellation charge. No Show - 100% of groom cost & any further appointments required will need to be paid in full in advance at time of booking plus cancellation charge. Exceptions may be made for unavoidable emergencies.

New Clients From February 2017 all clients of Carla’s Pooch Parlour will need to complete a client information sheet and sign our grooming release form and contract. We will discuss your requirements for grooming and inspect your dog. This process will take about 10-15 minutes so please allow time. Anal glands Under the Veterinary Surgeons Act 1966, only qualified Veterinary Surgeons are allowed to diagnose conditions and undertake treatments such as expressing anal glands, teeth cleaning and administer medicines, or advise Owners’ on how to do this themselves. As such, no Dog Groomer should be partaking in any of these activities. Whilst some less informed Dog Groomers do carry out these procedures, at The Classy Canine we observe the regulations put in place by the Law and will not carry out such procedures. However we will of course conduct a thorough health check of your dog and advise whether there is anything observed which should be addressed by a Vet.

At Carla’s Pooch Parlour we believe it is necessary to hold a free consultation with owner and pet before the appointment. This helps to obtain the best results and meet your requirements. Our sole intention is to offer a personal grooming service, with care & love for your dog. We are happy to arrange a time where you can meet us, see our place of work and discuss your grooming requirements or any concerns you may have. We like to help nervous dogs as well as nervous owners! Appointment Times It is always difficult to estimate how long a groom will to take but on average a small to medium dog which is well behaved in decent condition and groomed regularly can expect to take approx 2 to 2 ½ hours. New visitors, puppies, larger dogs and dogs with matted coats or challenging behaviours can expect to be longer. An approx length of time will be advised at the consultation but please understand an estimate is what it is, as it is our intention to give all clients the best result but with the sole aim of always putting your dog first so we kindly request your patience if the appointment does take longer than the estimate given. We are sure you will appreciate that every appointment made is allocated a time slot to your dog’s specific needs. This is why we kindly request that you and your dog arrive promptly for appointments and collections AND PLEASE make sure your dog has been walked and toileted beforehand. Please note appointments are best booked in advance if you have specific days and times in mind so we do advise you to book early to avoid any disappointment.
