Description
Teddy-cation is a unique pre-school class that provides practical & exciting learning opportunities linked to The Early Learning Goals and brain exercises. I started Teddy-cation because I wanted a class that provided fun educational, interactive learning opportunities that covered different subject areas and worked different areas of the brain firing the imagination of young minds. I also wanted to provide ways of preparing both child and parent for school life. A class that didn't already exist out there.
I have 17 years of primary school teaching experience including being Deputy Head for a number of years. This experience as well as being school ambassador for BLP, (Building Learning Power) and Assesment Lead, has helped create the Teddy-cation curriculum for preschool aged curriculum.
I use elements of the Early Years Curriculum to help structure my classes, with a clear learning intention and fun activities working alongside parents with time to reflect on what we have achieved in the session.
Fun interactive activities cover different skills in the subject areas; Art, English, Maths, Science, D&T, P.E., Geography and music linked with Early Years Foundation Stage. Each class is a new and exciting experience pitched at an age appropriate level.
Teddy-cation is tailored specifically to the pre school phase and develops language and communication skills, listening skills, social and emotional skills, confidence, co-ordination, imagination, enquiring minds, creativity and exploration of different subject area skills.
Classes follow a set structure with Teddy Neuron greeting each child, a brain warm up exercise, a mission set by Teddy Neuron, a fun practical activity based on a subject area, a self assessment opportunity and a sticker on their Super Hero card.
Each class runs for 45 minutes over the course of 10 weeks and has a maximum of 14 children attending each session. The last session is where Budding Brains (Buddies) graduate into becoming Super Heroes themselves in the last week.

The gorgeous Tuppence has been with us for over a year and will not be coming back after Christmas, as her preschool hours are increasing!! We had such a lovely morning the other day with Dandy Development making these Christmas cards. We met so many lovely children and parents! Listening to Dandy songs brought back so many wonderful memories when my twins attended the classes!! Such a great class and thank you for inviting us 🐻🦁
