BNI Visitor Day – 9th September – It was just O.K. it killed some time. Well actually it was great to be honest there was a great buzz in the place. We got a total of 9 Visitors and one joined. Look there’s no point me saying it was amazing and we are the best BNI Chapter in existence we are not. But 9 Visitors is pretty dam good and we really are starting to make a lot of noise out there about our chapter and we are starting to fly. We are all working as a chapter. With Andy Murdy at the helm as President, Bernard as Vice President, David Brookbank as Treasurer,… hold on have you got bored yet….? O.k. o.k. I’m going to stop and get to the point. We are going to be the best chapter by looking after every individual member in the chapter, work with them to promote their businesses, look at their brands, there website, there social media presence, there selling skills, help them see where they are positioned with their competitors, encourage everyone to work with other members to improve their own service and what there shop front looks like……. (Changing to dream and fantasy mode now.) We will work as an army of skilled professionals, holding each other’s hands, see each day as a new world of adventure, we will stand on the shoulders of kings to look forward and conquer business around Kenilworth, Warwickshire, West Midlands, Middle England, England, Great Britain, Europe, southeast Asia…. The moon…. Jupiter, Uranus (Careful now), our galaxy our solar system and beyond……………. ( 3, 2, 1, wake up out of Fantasy mode)…..arrrhhh sorry I got a bit carried away there didn’t I. Now back to reality we really want us to grow our chapter steadily and solidly together (Have I started again?) and really enjoy it as well. Now don’t forget we have another VISITOR DAY on Friday 23rd September. So if you are at a bit of a loose end, got nothing better to do then register and come along. Leadership Training - Draycote Hotel - Monday 12 September It was silly o'clock in the morning, we all got together for some leadership training. OSCAR TIME - CRAFTY Carol... Congratulations to Carol Blower from “Owl Events & Marketing” for winning the Oscar for best 60 seconds. Carol is our Heart of Warwickshire BNI Chapter for Events & Marketing - call her on 07990 513 969. After a busy week of setting up and managing a FAYRE, mild mannered Carol was exhausted and feeling slightly uneasy about her 60 seconds. But to be FAYRE to her, she took the podium like a MARKET leader. Standing in front of her STALL here is what she said…. “I’ve a little tale to share. Yesterday morning, my daily ROUTE to MARKET turned into quite an EVENT. Rushing towards me was a glamorous bride in a stunning WEDDING dress, she frantically asked if I’d seen her PHOTOGRAPHER and MAKEUP ARTIST who got lost on their way to the VENUE. I politely shook my head indicating that I had not and quietly muttered ‘maybe you need a WEDDING, to be FAYRE’. While I was queuing to order my breakfast coffee, the young girl ahead of me proceeded to share with me her EVENTful morning. She'd lost her CHRISTMAS GIFT list. I asked “Can you remember what’s on your list?” The tear in eye, told me the answer. I suggested that she visit the local CRAFT FAYRE, CHILDREN’s FAYRE, FOOD FAYRE or CHRISTMAS MARKET (ED. Yea, yea, I know it’s only September but 116 days and counting). I reassured her that there, she would find hand-crafted gifts from around the world (ED. Stick with me, I’m sure the punch line will come to me soon!). Pointing to a dashing young man, I told her he was the local MARKET TRADER. I suggested if she gently flirted with him, he’d be sure to help a damsel in distress. Sometimes you have to be CRAFTy to be FAYRE. As a glint appeared in her eye, I knew that another problem was solved in the world of “Owl Events & Marketing”. FAYRE play to Carol Blower and congratulations on winning best 60 seconds.
