On Friday 12th May the Health Centre’s energy supply company will be switching off our electricity for 2-hours at some point between 12noon and 4pm. During this time we will not have any access to telephones, no lighting, no front door access, no computer access (so no access to medical records, including prescriptions, results etc.) and we will be unable to use some medical equipment. NHS Fife did try to arrange this work outwith working hours, but unfortunately this was not possible for the energy supply company and the work to be done is important and necessary. We apologise in advance for any inconvenience that this may cause. If you are unable to contact us this Friday afternoon please try us again later, or if the problem is urgent and cannot wait please contact NHS24 on freephone 111, or in an emergency please dial 999 for the ambulance service.

The practice kindly asks that patients do not queue in the reception area or the pram shelter area on a Monday morning before 10am for the weekly appointment release. If patients choose to come before 10am we request that they wait in the waiting room until 10am. There is categorically no official queuing system in place, and never has been. Queuing in the reception area is intimidating to other patients and also does not allow any form of privacy at the reception desk. It can also cause confusion, with patients joining the queue who are visiting the Health Centre for other reasons. Queuing in these areas also results in health and safety issues; blocking fire exit, lack of space to manoeuvre wheelchairs and obstructing entrance/exit to visitors and emergency services, to name but a few. It also causes difficulty to those wishing to use the self-check-in system. The weekly release of routine appointments occurs from 10am every Monday. Daily triage takes place between 8.30am-10.00am Monday through Friday for urgent on-the-day requests, or if you feel that your problem cannot or can no longer wait until the next release of routine appointments. Evening surgery appointments continue to be released from 8.30am on a Wednesday morning for the following week's evening surgery.

We kindly ask that visitors to the practice refrain from securing dogs to the railings at the Health Centre entrance. Not only is it unsafe for the dog, due to the automatic doors, but many people have a fear of dogs so cannot enter or exit. There is also the risk of injury. Today a member of NHS Fife staff was badly bitten when entering the premises.
