When teaching paediatric BLS I'm often asked whether the ratio for children is 15:2 or 30:2? (Particularly by healthcare workers) I always teach 30:2, October 2015 Resuscitation council Guidance states: " Those who work in healthcare and are LIKELY to resuscitate children, the ratio is 15 compressions to 2 breaths" For those that care for children but are Unlikely to resuscitate them, the ratio is 30 compressions to 2 breaths." Our vision at Breathe first aid training is to make first aid courses more accessible to the general public, and to improve first aid delivery in the workplace. In the United Kingdom, 150,000 lives a year are lost to causes which with basic first aid skills and knowledge , could have been prevented. We believe anyone can save a life and make a difference. Our courses are based on real experiences and knowledge gained throughout careers in the military and the NHS, and current practice in the acute care environment. Whether you are a parent,a carer or a named first aider at work we have a course suitable for your needs. We hold regular courses at venues throughout Ipswich and surrounding areas, however, we can also deliver training "in house" or on a one-to-one basis at your home. Please don't hesitate to contact us for further information.
