Historic home to the Clan Fraser for generations, this special place is abundant in wildlife, beautiful specimen trees and lovely walking from each cottage doorstep with picnic spots by the meandering River Beauly.
Beauly, 4 miles away, is a bustling little village with delightful shops and a good choice of restaurants and is gateway to the great glens of Cannich, Strathfarrar and Affric. Explore the famous waterfalls and marvel at the mighty Caledonian pine forests with excellent forest trails,nearby is the conservation village of Tomich which boasts a good pub and is where Lord Tweedsmouth bred the golden retriever at his Guisachan Estate. A visit to Loch Ness and the ruins of Urquhart Castle with information on the mystery at the award winning exhibition at Drumnadrochit is only 10miles.
Inverness is 11 miles away and offers city attractions with boat trips on Loch Ness and to the Moray Firth to view the famous bottle nosed dolphins.
A riverside theatre with a plethora of excellent restaurants, leisure centre with swimming pool,cinema, shopping, museum, ice rink whilst on the boundary the haunting Culloden Moor with visitors centre is a reminder of the Clans historic struggle. Castles Cawdor and Brodie are worthy of visiting as with the villages around the Black Isle.
Golf courses abound in this area with the closest, Muir of Ord only 5 miles away. Ullapool is an hours drive and ferry port to the Western Isles, enjoy the coastal scenery and drive the round trip by Poolewe and the NTS Gardens at Inverewe and Loch Maree.

The Team at Beaufort Cottages have been very busy upgrading and freshening the cottages for this season. Our work is ongoing and always done with a thought to making staying in the cottages as enjoyable a stay as possible. The weather of course we can do nothing about but isn't that the uniqueness of the Highlands. Expect the unexpected and always be ready for anything🤣😀
The Team here at Beaufort feel lucky in being able to meet so many freindly interesting folks staying in our cottages. Sometimes although something happens to remind us of the history attached to this area. We had guests staying in Kennels Cottage who left us a lovely note on our questionaire reminding us of past events on this estate. I'm afraid the quality is not perfect.😀
The cottages on Beaufort Estate have each got their own individual charm and at this time of the year even more so. The frost, and hopefully snow, gives an even greater appreciation of the warmth from the fires and stoves inside. Most of our cottages have been snapped up for Christmas and New Year but if you are fast you might still be able to book one and enjoy the festive season in the Highlands.
On Beaufort Estate we take pride in being able to provide a cottage to suit most needs. Whither it be to sleep 2 or 7 people.....for a couple, a base for business needs or cycling/walking in the surrounding area, a family wanting to holiday together... Beaufort Cottages can accommodate.
