The second round of the Captains` Challenge was played on October 29th the last competition prior to the 2017-18 winter league. This is a Ryder Cup format with captain Gordon Miller`s team against past captain Duncan Lauder`s team One unusual hazard for this season was a bright orb in the sky which dazzled the players! The course was soft but in great condition despite the deluge from the day before. The result on the day was 2 points each (a halved match), Gordon`s team now leads the series 6-5, with the final round of the series to be played on the 17th December. Mention must be made of 70+evergreen Billy McLaughlin who was out in 31 shots (11putts) However, the real winners were the club`s chosen charity for this year, The Cystic Fibrosis Trust, as another donation was made from the members (£120.00 and counting)
