Machines training official opening day - 1st April! It's the first wheelchair accessible gym with machines built for wheelchair users. Machines Training is opened by the inspirational Neil Axle Foulds. The Machines Training centre is within our LA Wellbeing Sports Centre. Excited to of helped make this dream a reality.

VACANCY Job Title: General Manager (sports and fitness) Number of Working Hours: 20 hours per week Reports to: Sports Department Manager. Salary: £12.00 per hour. Apply to: lawrence@3ways.org.uk by 12:00 Wednesday 22nd Feb with a current CV and covering letter Job Purpose: To oversee everyday operations in the Sports and Fitness departments; including rotas, line management of two team leaders, a volunteer coordinator, fitness instructors, personal trainers and the team of volunteers that make up the community sports and fitness team at Threeways. Liaising with line management and site maintenance team to ensure that health and safety, safeguarding and legislative obligations are adhered to within the department. Key Roles: Administration: Ensure that bookings are taken accurately and efficiently and that records requested by the board of directors are kept and updated as appropriate. Ensuring that all bookings in the gym, studio rooms, drop in room, sports hall and any other facilities and gym memberships are kept up to date and are accurate. To liaise with the financial department with regards to budgets, costs and running cost. To liaise with the financial department with regards to invoicing and equipment budgets. To ensure that all staff in administrational roles are filling in details/ recording information/ using software correctly and appropriately Handle any and all complaints and take appropriate action Human Resource Management: maintain regular communications and good relations with volunteers, staff, freelance instructors and line management within the centre. Liaise with line management as appropriate regarding HR issues To ensure all Threeways policies and procedures are being adhered including by all colleagues/ staff in the department. (Safeguarding, insurance, qualifications up to date, dicipline etc) To ensure all coaches are appropriately qualified and insured for the session they are taking. To carry out any disciplinary action required on all relevant situations and pass this action onto the relevant person(s) where appropriate. To authorise all coach’s invoices and cross reference them with class registers and time sheets before being sent to the finance department. To assist with negotiations for pay rates with coach’s dependant on performance and coaching cost budgets, when appropriate. To assist with interviews of coaches and decide if they are appropriate to lead or assist in any sessions, when necessary. To act as any staff, volunteers or placement coaches line manager and mentor where appropriate. Training: To notify all relevant parties of upcoming courses and assist booking them onto the courses if and when possible/appropriate To ensure that all necessary training/refreshers and induction for new and existing staff members and volunteers are carried out properly. Update appropriate induction and training procedures where appropriate. Ensure all staff are adequately trained to carry out any and all required tasks. Maintain an accurate record of all staff training and schedule training where required. Review staff training levels on a periodic basis. Ensure all appropriate staffs qualifications are in date and at the relevant level for their roles. General: Ensure that housekeeping of the sports department and relevant areas of site is carried out to an acceptable standard. To demonstrate and uphold Threeways’ values and behavioural standards at all times. Support the sports department in the running and the security of all its facilities, including locking up and opening up the centres i.e. Sports centre, Fitness centre. To take a proactive approach in raising the profile of sports and physical activity within Threeways and the local community. To demonstrate excellent working relationships with volunteers and ensure the best collaboration between sports volunteers and volunteers whilst maintaining high levels of customer service. To contribute to the development, organisation, promotion and evaluation of any and all projects undertaken by the sports department at Threeways. To undertake any and all other duties deemed necessary by line management, when capable and able to. This job description is not to be regarded as exclusive or exhaustive.
