Today’s job was a ceiling re-skim, as you can see every precaution is taken to protect your home during Plastering. As we began to test the ceiling it became apparent that old wallpaper adhesive and paints may have caused issues with the plaster adhering to the ceiling surface. Many plasterers would’ve just plastered it regardless and moved on, we haven’t and we don’t take those risks. Therefore we sanded the surface, applied a base coat of PVA and have then applied a stabilising solution, in this case Febond Blue Grit. ( which is why the ceiling is now blue ) When the solution is cured in 24 hours it will have completely sealed the ceiling with a resin type coat, the grit in the solution then gives the plaster something to key to. This has obviously delayed the job and this delay will have an impact on the weeks scheduled work. But, it has to be done right, we aim to provide a long lasting great finish, we don’t cut corners and we don’t take risks 👌🏼 #AnoraPlastering
