Age of criminal responsibility raised to 12

A very welcome and necessary change from the Scottish Government. Charging young children (8-12) with offences can have serious and lifelong consequences for their future. A child centred approach is required to help and support vulnerable young people in difficult situations, not criminalise them. Offending behaviour in children is rarely an isolated issue and we have to seek to address the social concerns at its cause.
