Sewn and assembled completely by hand and produced using a very rare traditional vulcanization process that employs natural rubber made in-house and adds extra durability. The uppers are made from a ‘Good Weaver’ canvas cloth, constructed using the “Kurume Kasuri” technique that needs around 3 months to be woven. Tender 742 Wool Pattern Cardigan Hand frame knitted in Scotland from 3-ply indigo dyed weaving yarn (taken directly from production of Tender denim), so it has not been ‘skewed’ or pre-treated. The knitting pattern is taken from a traditional lambswool men's cardigan. Given that wool shrinks far more than cotton, a wool pattern used with these yarns leads to a garment with new and unexpected proportions. The Yarn is made by twisting fibres together- when raw, untreated denim jeans are washed then yarn tries to untwist back to its fibres original position, and this causes the legs of jeans to twist (clockwise for right hand twill denim, anticlockwise for left hand twill). This type of raw yarn is not usually used for knitwear, but Tender have knitted a garment with the full skewing of a pair of unsanforized jeans.
