The Benefice of the Piddle Valley, Hilton, Cheselbourne and Melcombe Horsey is a collection of six parishes lying in two valleys to the north of Dorchester The Benefice of the Piddle Valley, Hilton, Cheselbourne and Melcombe Horsey is a collection of six parishes lying in two valleys to the north of Dorchester. The western of those two valleys is the Piddle Valley comprises three parishes: Alton Pancras, Piddletrenthide and Piddlehinton together with the hamlets of Plush and Whitelackington. The other three parishes lie in the Chesel valley and include the hamlets of Pleck, Higher Ansty and Ansty, Melcombe Bingham and Higher Melcombe.

Dorset Midsummer Music Festival (or DorsetFest) is a family friendly music festival set in the heart of Dorset in an Area Of Outstanding Natural Beauty. The 2017 festival will start at 6pm on the evening of Friday 23rd June and the main festival will then be on Saturday 24th June.
