Tailors Through Time
Description
Providing engaging cross curriculum based historical clothing workshops for Key Stage 2 and 3 students in schools and historical event venues. Tailors Through Time (TTT) offers a range of workshops aimed at Key Stage 2 and 3 students which cover the History, Design Technology, Maths and Science curriculum. TTT has designed and made a range of period clothing with emphasis on them being as historically correct as possible, for the Children to handle and try. Each outfit fits a social history narrative. We have developed a number of different resources enabling children to learn Maths through the practical application of creating a piece of clothing.

I've continued to work towards learning as much as possible about Historical Clothing and Textiles in general. I have met some wonderful new friends at the Southern Counties Costume Society. I have attended 3 events including 3 days in Norwich. I was 'drunk' with the pleasure from immersing myself in all things textile and It was such a pleasure to mix with likeminded people.

Continuing the Pantomime years. Heres some more photos. Mick, wearing the mermaid costume, the scales made of old CD's. On stage with the lighting it gave a stunning effect with the CDs reflecting circles and shimmering lights across the audience and walls. My take on the Pearly King and Queen was a joint venture, Dave cut gold and silver cardboard circles and I stuck them on. Again, on stage very effective. I dread to think how long it must take to sew on all those pearly buttons onto the real costumes. "storm the castle" anyone?
