Routine Podiatry appointment includes all toenails getting cut professionally, all hard skin removed with a scalpel and smoothed down, any corns you may have will be professionally removed also. Nail Surgery is a permanent solution to recurring painful Ingrowing toenails. The procedure includes the toe being numbed with anaesthetic, removal of nail and the application of a chemical called phenol which stops the nail from regrowing (application of phenol is optional and you can chose to allow the nail to regrow) Below is a before picture, what you should expect it to look like during healing and an after picture when it has fully healed.
