Welcome to the Facebook page of the Rutland in Chesterfield, which since March 13th 2012 has been under the management of your hosts Anthony and Joanne Payne, having moved from the Blue Stoops in Walton where they built and established a top reputation for great food & hospitality as well as Real Ales both familiar and new to the area and put the pub firmly on the Derbyshire map in the three years of their tenure, winning numerous accreditations, awards (including CAMRA Summer Pub of the Season 2011) and raising a lot of money for numerous charities with the support of their regulars along the way.

We were delighted that The Rutland was voted Chesterfield CAMRA Town Centre Pub of the Year 2012, this recognition of our commitment to quality Real Ales and the support for us since we took over has been fantastic - thank you all who have supported us and voted for us!

We hope to continue building on the reputation of a pub that's very well known locally but introducing fantastic home-made and hand-made quality traditional pub food, expanding the Real Ale trade even further and building on the strength of the Rutland as something uniquely & traditionally British, equally welcoming to regulars and visitors alike. Above all we listen to our customers, and have introduced the incredibly popular "Double Up for £1" on all our spirits, a bottle of quality wine for £10.45 deal, and brought in a range of "bombs" for those out celebrating! Keep telling us your opinions, your feedback helps us !

Diane, who was the cook at the Blue Stoops for 15 years and has a big following, came with us and we know her wonderful home-made British food is exactly what's required here at The Rutland. We have something on the menu for every taste, from Grill specials to fresh fish, from tantalising salads and gorgeous breads for your lighter bites and lunches through to her famous British Steak & Ale pies, and of course we're bringing the "2 Dine for £10" offer with us that has proved so popular at the Blue Stoops. Di will be doing her daily specials boards, so look out for our "Rutland Special of the Day"! We must also mention our  hand made English cheesecakes, sponge puddings, and other sweet treats and we know once you see or try them, no description will be necessary!

We will be holding more Real Ale festivals and much more over the coming months, keep your eyes on our regular Facebook updates for all the information, as well as lots of plans for The Rutland to build on its existing success and also to attract many more new customers and friends, and of course our Facebook page will expand significantly over the coming months.
