Herd House riding School haas been running since 1990 Herd House Riding School
Has been running since 1990. We teach from beginners to more advanced riders. All beginners learn the basic control and communication with the horse or pony in the large indoor arena. The benefits of this is that you are learning in a safe environment the balance and skill required to be able to ride. Those skills can them be used in other areas like the paddock. And then on to more open spaces.
All the horses and ponies are well schooled for beginners but will work to a higher level for the more advanced riders doing some lateral work and jumping.
The hacks out are in the open country around, longer rides can be arranged over the moors and using the Mary Townley Loop.
We keep clients of the same level on the same ride, this is safer as the less experienced are not trying to keep up with better riders, and the more advanced rider does not keep getting beginners in the lesson slowing down the activity of the ride.

Herd House as now closed as a riding school due to retirement
What a gorgeous day here at Herd House, we now have availability in some of our group lessons. Lessons may involve fun rides in the countryside, a calm relaxed ride in our indoor arena or grass paddock. Or fun and games at pony club! For a space please message or call! Well Ladies and Gents , Boys & Girls.... it may be raining outside, however it isn't raining in our indoor arena. 👍🏼 Sam is back after being off for the past two weeks and all usual lessons are back to normal. If you've not been for a lesson just yet.... try it! Absolute fabulous Hobby that also keeps you fit!!! And ( Dry ) ☔️☔️☔️!! See you all this week for some more fabulous Riding! 🐴❤🐴❤
