She pioneered nursing in the UK and developed nursing methods that are still respected today. In 1921 Marie Stopes opened the first birth control clinic in the UK. It wasn't until 1961 (and 1967 for single women) that the contraceptive pill became available through the NHS. In 1951 Rosalind Franklin worked on imaging DNA and was instrumental in the discovery of the DNA helix we understand today. Where would we be without them? Thank you ladies
