We also believe that results can only be achieved by hard work and our pupils acquire the skill early on.

Christmas Bazaar Thank you so much to our wonderful members of the Parents Social Committee for such a fantastic Christmas Bazaar. The Sports Hall was full of stalls and activities for the children to enjoy. We were also pleased that Father Christmas was able to join us in spite of his very busy schedule at this time of year. The children have had a lovely time and the school was buzzing with festive fun! Thank you to everyone who helped to make the day so special.

Christmas with the Aliens performance by the Kindergarten children Our youngest children demonstrated their early talents for performing at their Christmas production. It was delightful to see such confidence and enthusiasm at such a young age. Well done Kindergarten!

Exciting times at St John's! The children from Reception through to Upper 3 had a fantastic time at the pantomime yesterday afternoon. They were very well behaved and all enjoyed the performance. We are now looking forward to the Christmas plays, the Christmas bazaar, Christmas lunch, the Carol Concert and of course...the Kindergarten and Junior Christmas parties. We truly have many exciting and festive things ahead!

Art Success for Mrs Hilton Well done to Mrs Hilton who has recently had two pieces of artwork accepted into Chelmsford Museum as part of their Open Art Competition. The paintings were selected by a panel to showcase artists in Chelmsford. They will be on exhibition in the Chelmsford Oaklands Museum until 4th March.

Lower Kindergarten receive Magic Sweets Mrs Armour was delighted to welcome LKEG to her study last week. The children were full of enthusiasm as they proudly presented their work about Space. The children were each rewarded with a Magic Sweet in recognition of their efforts. Mrs Armour's Magic Sweets are popular amongst pupils of all ages (and amongst the staff as well!). It is said that putting the sweet wrapper under the pillow a bedtime, brings 'sweet dreams' to the lucky recipient.

Remembrance Day 2016 The school joined together for a Remembrance Day assembly on Friday 11th November. Arriving in silence, the pupils had time for personal reflection before Mrs Bayliss discussed the importance of remembering how the acts of bravery have had such on impact on our lives today. This was followed by a reading of Flanders Field by Mrs Zoller. Mrs Armour read out the names of ex St John's pupils who lost their lives in the war and the pupils then had time for further reflection during a one minute silence. On Sunday, our Head Boy and Head Girl will be representing the school at the Remembrance Service at Billericay War Memorial.

Doughnut and Hot Dog Sale The children had a lovely time at the Doughnut and Hot Dog Sale on Friday 21st October. They enjoyed buying doughnuts, hot dogs, hot chocolate, sweets and chocolate. Thank you to the wonderfully supportive parents in our Parents Social Committee for organising such an exciting event to raise funds for the children. What a fun end to the half term!
