facebook.comThis is a disgrace. FE lecturers are still waiting for pay increments which were due in September. They are being fobbed off with nonsense about Stormont not sitting and no executive being in place. CollegesNI and the Department of the Economy are treating FE teachers as second class teachers.

FE Bulletin The NASUWT has been contacted by several members who have been denied their contractual entitlement to incremental progression or threshold payment. Both the Department for the Economy and the College Employers are treating further education teachers as second-class citizens compared to their school-based colleagues. The NASUWT will be challenging this on behalf of all our members and is encouraging all those affected to contact the NASUWT Northern Ireland Centre on 028 9078 4480 or rc-nireland@mail.nasuwt.org.uk. Don't let the Employers fob you off with nonsense about Stormont not sitting as an excuse. If you have a right to incremental progression, the employer MUST pay.

PRSD We have been contacted by some members with queries about PRSD. Our position is set out in this letter which was sent to members and principals in October. It was issued as a result of some schools implementing PRSD outside of the agreed scheme. If your school is operating PRSD outside of the agreed scheme then you are protected by the NASUWT’s Action Short of Strike Action Instructions and can refuse to take part. Note: Do not accept any observations outside of PRSD. We have been made aware of some schools operating an alternative system involving principal only observations, targets and review meetings. This 'I can't believe it is not PRSD' is an unofficial performance management system which was not agreed by the NASUWT and does not have any of the protections of the PRSD scheme.
Great crowd at the Education Authority in Belfast- hearing us loud and clear. Hands off our special needs schools. NASUWT proud to stand with our teachers, parents and support staff.
