High quality Korean Martial Arts including traditional Taekwondo and Sport Taekwondo and Hapkido Overton and Basingstoke Taekwondo (OBTKD) was founded in 1997. From modest beginnings the club grow to be one of the largest and most successful in Hampshire. In 2013, the OBTKD Instructors Committee decided that it was time to bring more focus to the developmental needs specific for each of the Overton and Basingstoke areas, and therefore to separate OBTKD into two new collaborating clubs. On the 1st April 2014, Bluewave Korean Martial Arts was officially launched to continue our journey to bring the best instruction and facilities for Taekwondo and other Korean Martial Arts to the Basingstoke Area.
We welcome both new beginners and those with previous experience in Taekwondo or other martial arts. The club can provide you with
- high quality World Taekwondo Federation (WTF)/Kukkiwon Taekwondo training at affordable fees
- our own fully fitted dojang (gym) in Basingstoke, possibly the best in the South of England with a waiting area and free WiFi for parents
- access to the latest training equipment including Daedo TK-Strike electronic scoring as used at London 2012
- a challenging training syllabus covering Traditional Taekwondo, Self Defence and the Olympic Sport Taekwondo
- an enthusiastic and friendly atmosphere
- the opportunity to participate in regular seminars, tournaments, and social events
- an experienced team of instructors who are committed to Taekwondo at its best

British Taekwondo has just released the National Ranking Tables ( www.britishtaekwondo.org.uk/2016/08/british-taekwondo-national-championships-seeding ) . Congratulations to Alex Stock who is now Ranked #1 in Great Britain in the Male Junior -68kg division and to Amy Stock who despite injuries is Ranked joint #3 in the Female Senior -57kg division.
First two matches done at UTF London International Open with two good wins Cullen through to SF 17-1 and Hayden through to F 22-5. Cullen's SF next.

Hapkido seminar with Master Andrew Chaney of RED TIGER Academy, 17th September. Focus will be on advanced self defence techniques. Open to 16+, £20/person.
Busy poomsae weekend coming up. Club competition training 12-2pm on Saturday at VBC. Southern Region Open Squad training on Sunday 12-3pm at Horley Leisure Centre. Two great chances to sharpen those patterns.
The Basingstoke Studio near to us at VBC is offering family portraits for the months of July/August/September at the special reduced rate of £10.00. The Basingstoke Studio is Unit 5 Industrial at the rear of Vickers House, Vickers Business Park. They have agreed to advise our classes so we in exchange want to make our members and friends aware of their special offer.
