The club also boasts a thriving junior section, with 160 juniors, and coaching at the ground most weekday evenings. facebook.comWe are delighted to say that the club has been granted Planning Permission to rebuild the clubhouse. This is obviously excellent news and means we will be able to offer appropriate modern changing facilities for all our sports sections and newly built bar and kitchen areas for all members to enjoy. It is provisionally intended to start the rebuild after funding is released in April 2019, and aiming for completion in time for the start of the 2020 cricket season. Funding streams have been identified, though it is still likely that fund raising activities will need to be activated in the months ahead - ideas welcome! The granting of Planning Permission is a major breakthrough in our aim to redevelop the clubhouse & much thanks must go to those involved in developing and presenting the plans over the course of several years to bring us to this point.

Afternoon everyone, as everyone knows our kit is with Serious Cricket and they are coming to the club for 2 fitting sessions. So I would very grateful if everyone could get along to 1 of the 2 session and that is for every member of the cricket club. They have a new range of kit for this year, so please get along and have a look. They will be doing some bundle offers as well. The session are: Saturday 3rd March 12 noon Wednesday 7th March from 6.45pm Both of them are at Basingstoke Cricket Club. Could you just put a 👍🏻/👎🏻 so we can get some numbers please.
Well done Basingstoke on winning the U15 cup at Eversley today. Great work considering the team was made up of an U12, U13, U14 and 3 x U15s. Bowling was a little wayward in the first couple of games but came tighter in the 3rd game. After the round Robbin Basingstoke were in 3rd place and had to play Ascot in the semi final. They decided to put their cricket heads on and won putting them into the final against Hartley Wintney that were made up of 4 x U16s and 2 x U15s. The boys fielded first and kept Hartley to 79 runs. Basingstoke went into bat with both Josh C and Josh M retiring. Both ended up back in on the last over where they need 3 runs off the last ball to win. Josh M placed it nicely into the corner giving them the runs that were required. I think it was the promise of a Nandos by Mark Lewis if they won that sealed the victory, Well done to Josh Coombs (c), Josh May (w), Charlie Turner, Billy Lewis, Tom Dyer, Neal Shead. A fantastic last game to watch. Both teams played really well.
A good turnout for the indoor nets this morning
The U16s were in action last night at the Ageas Bowl in the cup games. First game was against Parley. Batting first Basingstoke set the target at 132 for 3 off 12. Josh May 26*, Josh Coombs 15, Max Setrem 13, Aaryan Govande 6, Charlie Turner 8, Mikhal Saujani 3*. In response Parley reached the target in just under 12 overs with their last man standing reaching 46*. Wickets for Charlie, Mikhal, Max and Aaryan. It was a very tight and tense game. Basingstoke were unlucky not to win. Their second game was against West Hants. Again batting first Basingstoke set the target of 121 for 3 off 12. Josh May 32*, Josh Coombs 23, Max Setrem 27*, Charlie Turner 3, Mikhal Saujani 11*. West Hants reached the target in just under 12 overs with no loss of wicket. Another great game to watch. Onwards to the next game.
Just to give everyone a heads up on Basingstoke kit. Serious Cricket have a whole new kit design with different materials but it’s not all there yet. So week after 12th February week they are going to come in and do a sizing up for the whole cricket section. You will be able to see and try on all the new kit and get the right size. So if you are getting new kit maybe wait until then. This is all playing kit as well as training kit so all clothing. If anyone needs help with anything just let me know.

Well done to the U15s who won the Eversley Christmas Cup today. Captained by Josh Coombs, wicket Keeper Josh May, Harry Slynn, Adam Hargood, Billy Lewis, and Corey Bradley. The other teams were Odiham, Wokingham, Normandy, Valley End & Eversley. It was a round robin format with semi and final to finish. Basingstoke won all matches beating Odiham in the final. Good all round effort with all contributing. Fielding was exceptional
Wishing everyone a Merry Christmas & Happy New Year! I'd like to thank everyone at the club this year for their hard work & congratulations to all involved in the success we have had. And best wishes to everyone for a healthy and successful 2018! Andy
