Fantastic new surgery development: Laparoscopic Neutering

Halifax External Image

Laparoscopy (also known as "key-hole" surgery) is the most advanced form of internal surgery available for your pet and it is now available at Vets4Pets Halifax!

Laparoscopy can be used for internal investigations, biopsy, but perhaps most importantly - neutering female dogs. Male dogs with retained testicles are also suitable for laparoscopic neutering

Significant investment in specialised equipment and training is required to be able to perform laparoscopy and this has been made in order to provide the best possible level of care for our patients.

The advantages of laparoscopy include:

•significant reduction in patient discomfort compared with traditional neutering surgery

•significant reduction in patient recovery time after surgery

•reduced surgery times

•reduced risk of post-operative complications

This means you pet will feel less pain and be able to return to normal activity far quicker after laparoscopic neutering than with the traditional approach.

Call us on 01422 383 000 or pop into practice today for more information on Laparoscopy

There will be a lovely big car park with plenty of space for everyone. We will have two waiting areas, one for cats and one for dogs. These are just a couple of the new exciting things to look forward to. We will update you all every step of the way and we welcome any questions you may have, but please do be patient as we may not have the answer right away, this is all new to us too! Thank you! It's no doubt getting colder over the next couple of weeks. Please ensure all animals kept outdoors are suitably protected. Here's some excellent information for rabbits and guinea pigs. If you can bring them indoors however to a shed or garage then that would be the best option. Those of you with poultry, ensure extra bedding in the coop and feeding corn late afternoon can help hens keep warmer through the night.
