AQE test dates have now been confirmed on their website. They are: Saturday 10th November Saturday 24th November Saturday 1st December GL have not yet confirmed but it is likely to take place on Saturday 17th November. Registration for AQE will open on the 2nd May and GL is usually around the same time.

EASTER TRANSFER TEST BOOT CAMP Are you concerned about the success of your child in the upcoming Transfer Tests for Grammar Schools? Is your daughter/son struggling with Maths, English, Comprehension or Transfer test type questions? We will cover many aspects of the Transfer Test Syllabus, focusing on questions which cause candidates the most problems in the GL and AQE. Work covered each day is different so your child can attend one, two or three days throughout the Boot Camp. PROFESSIONAL ENGLISH, MATHS, READING & TRANSFER TEST TUITION IN BANBRIDGE Many people ask us at Kip McGrath Banbridge, "Why does Kip McGrath provide a FREE ASSESSMENT?" We provide a non obligation, FREE EDUCATIONAL ASSESSMENT to anyone who wants to know, if their child is struggling at school in English, maths or Reading. "What do we test in the assessments?" Tests vary with the child's age and ability, but we focus on reading, comprehension, spellings, sounds/phonics, writing, grammar, punctuation, tables, numeracy and creative writing. The assessment is great for parents as YOU can quickly see how your child is performing in school with their peers. "What happens after the assessment is completed and how long does it take?" The assessment can vary in time from 30/40 minutes for the 5/6 year olds to 60 minutes for the older students aged 9+. "Does Kip McGrath Banbridge assess for the 2018 Transfer Test?" Yes we do! We have successfully tutored the Transfer Test since we opened in 2015. We use the Kip McGrath programmes which are enhanced by traditional teaching resources and practice papers. Our Transfer tutors have 10-20+ years teaching experience. "What ages and subjects do you cater for?" We cater for students between 5 and 16 years. We provide specifically English, maths, reading and Transfer Test tuition. "Who are the tutors and are they vetted?" Kip McGrath policy is very thorough. All of our tutors are fully qualified and local teachers. All of our teachers are also fully vetted. Some people who offer tuition are not fully qualified teachers. This is also the case for other tutoring businesses who may use graduates to reduce costs. It therefore makes sense to have a fully qualified tutor and pay a similar price. "How long are your sessions and how often does my child need to attend?" Our sessions last 80 minutes therefore making them cost effective and better value than 45-60 minute sessions. We vary the work between written and computer activities to increase concentration and focus. The work will be based on the individual child and their assessment. Each lesson for each child will therefore be different and tailored to their weaker areas. Each student comes to Kip McGrath once a week, but more sessions can be added if requested. "Why is Kip McGrath so good, how will it benefit my child?" Firstly, we make learning enjoyable for the child. This is very important for children who lack confidence. When the child enjoys the learning environment in a modern educational centre they learn much more and their confidence consequently increases. We use Kip points and medals/trophies as a reward system in Banbridge. The students really love receiving these awards for subjects they previously may have had difficulty with. Two more happy boys from the Saturday morning sessions. Here we have Jack (left) and Cameron. Jack has won his silver medal and Cameron has won his gold medal! Jack has a maths programme. The difference in Jack since he came to Kip is amazing. He is a great worker and we are very proud of his achievements to date. Next we have Cameron. Cameron has just won his gold medal for his English work. Cameron recently had a great Transfer Test result and has stayed with us. Cameron loves Kip and again, works so hard during his lessons. Congratulations boys! You both really deserve your awards!

Here are two lovable characters from our Saturday morning class. Both boys - Zach (left) and Carter are progressing really well on their reading programmes. Their confidence has increased so much since they started with us. Both boys were very proud winning their gold medals. Congratulations Zach and Carter!

Say a huge 'hello,' to Lucy. Lucy has just won her bronze medal for 500 kip points. Lucy's tutor loves teaching her. She is so quiet and works so hard on her reading programme.
