Description
Welcome to The Sand Bothy Visitor Centre. Run by the community for the community - Help make a difference - get involved by volunteering! The Sand Bothy is run by a dedicated group of volunteers and is being developed with the support of The Belhelvie Community Trust.
We are working to develop a permanent visitor information centre, run a kiosk serving snacks and refreshments and provide a range of educational classes and workshops for the community.
We encourage care of the environment through educational and fun activities.
We always welcome new volunteers who want to join in - to fundraise, help run events, help in the kiosk, practical maintenance and support all associated activities.

That's the end of the first NEOS event at The Sand Bothy and what a great event it was! Over 440 people visited us over 5 days, browsed, bought, chatted, drank coffee. Lots of thanks are due: - to our three artists, Joni, Sarah and Rachel for all their hard work and also for creating such a happy, friendly event. The event was theirs, to display and sell their work, but they have also done so much to raise the profile of The Sand Bothy. - to all the Sand Bothy volunteers who regularly give up their time, for looking after everyone so well. - to everyone who came to support the event. - to the unknown electricity engineers who restored the power yesterday morning when the lights went out across the parish and beyond! We have already started making plans for next year's NEOS and other events, so please follow and like The Sand Bothy, share our posts and spread the word!

Good morning all! Have been prompted to remind everyone that The Sand Bothy is in Balmedie, at the Country Park., in case you haven't spotted us before... We are open today and tomorrow from 10am to 4pm for NEOS, displaying the work of 3 local artists, Joni Corbett, Sarah Peacock and Rachel Sinclair. Despite the very changeable weather we have had lots of visitors, so why not come on down, meet the artists, have a browse, enjoy a coffee....see you later!
