Né en 1969 dans l’ouest de l’Algérie, Youcef Debbab s’est formé à l’école des Beaux-Arts d’Oran (CEAG) puis à l’école supérieure d’Alger (Diplôme national des Arts Plastiques). Arrivé en Europe en 1988, il fréquente les Arts Appliqués de Toulouse puis l’école supérieure des Beaux-Arts de Lyon jusqu’en 1993. Finalement, il termine sa formation à l’école des Arts Graphiques de Valence. Il expose alors pendant plus de trois ans (1993 - 1995) à la galerie des Peintres de Demain à Lyon avant de créer lui-même l’espace Art et Découverte qu’il animera jusque dans les années 2000. Peu de temps après, Youcef Debbab à l’honneur de faire une grande exposition pour l’ouverture du festival de l’année de l’Algérie en France. Il participe à de nombreux événements culturels et intervient dans des structures éducatives pour transmettre son savoir faire et sa vision d’artiste avec des élèves de primaire. En résidence depuis 2008 à la Villa Marbrerie à Bourgoin-Jallieu, l’artiste crée dans un atelier et bénéficie aussi d’un espace d’exposition pour faire découvrir au public son univers.

Youcef DEBBAB: Entre apparence et existance Born in 1969 in the Algerian West, he was formed at the Fine Arts School of Oran (CEAG) then at the Collage of Algiers (national Diploma of the Plastic arts). Arrived in Europe in 1988, he frequents the Decorative arts of Toulouse then the Lyon's School of Fine Arts) until 1993. Finally, he ends his formation at the school of the Graphic Arts of Valence. Then he exhibited during more than three year (1993-1995) in the gallery of the Painters of Tomorrow in Lyon before he has created his own space, called Art and Discovery. A short time later, Youcef Debbab did a big exhibition for the opening of the festival of the year of Alegria in France. He was in charge of numerous cultural events in educational structures to transmit his knowledge and his art's vision with students. In residence since 2008 at the Villa Marble in Bourgion-Jallieu, which the artist changed for an workspace and show his paintings in a gallery.
