Brilon-Wald Bahnhof
Where the '70's becomes abstract art. Brilon Wald used to be the central station of the region where regional, national and international trains met. It closed long ago and time stood still. Until recent interestedpeople bought it and are busy transforming it to a hotel experience. On sunday september 11th 2016, it was open to the public to give a last view of how it was and how it's going to be. What I found looks like a mixture of nostalgia, decay and Anselm Kiefer paintings. It was quite an experience. Pictures made on a Canon G1X mark II

What appears to be an easy picture is turning out to be the most difficult assignment I ever had to shoot, also considering the awkward props I need, one of them being a genuine gravestone.... It is an assignment of "the Haagse Kunstkring" in which they asked me to write a column about foodphotography being an art. The column also deals with typical dutch funerals and the food habits of the guests. Dutch will immediately recognize the props on this picture: cheap wet cake, weak coffee in small cups with serve yourselve style condiments. It will be a challenge to make a proper, arty food & mood picture with these every day stuff.
