Thank you all for an amazing Science Week in the Midlands. Your support, participation and enthusiasm was a vital part of this year’s festival and we really appreciate it. This year, we had 50 different hubs, hosting a total of 138 events and workshops across 6 days in the 4 counties of Laois, Offaly, Longford and Westmeath and the feedback has been so positive. The festival received extensive online, print and broadcast media coverage and we estimate we reached over 9,000 people directly. On behalf of Midlands Science, we want to say a huge thanks for your interest and commitment. We wanted to inform, entertain and create a buzz around science in the region during Science Week this year and your support has helped make that happen. Videos of some events will be online shortly and images, so feel free to share these. We look forward to working with you in 2017 on both Science Week and other initiatives to grow interest in STEM skills and education in the Midlands. If you have particular things you'd like to see in 2017, please also let us know. Huge thanks to all our performers, speakers and supporters. Particular thanks to Amanda McCallan for great video recording of events and to Jeff Harvey for fantastic photography.
