Lovely morning out at Streedagh Strand today and great to see new Discovery point information signs for the #wildatlanticway informing the public of how three great Spanish ships wrecked here in 1588. Have a look at our Spanish Armada Trail if you are planning a trip to Sligo this year :) http://www.seatrails.ie/?pagid=spanish-armada-trail

The Strandhill Shellfish Experience | Seatrails | Guided Heritage Trails
What a way to start February along Sligo's pretty shores and coastline along the Wild Atlantic Way! Welcome to our special 'Strandhill Shellfish Experience- Ireland's First Takeaway', listed on the Sligo Food Trail. Two wonderful chefs from Trá Bán Restaurant Strandhill headed out before our happy group arrived on the scene after a refreshing walk. They cooked delicious mussels in a garlic and cream, white wine sauce- (to DIE for) and served it to us from their pot on the rocks at an ancient shell midden site. Here's a few pics and it this tickles your taste buds, don't hesitate to book a group in this year! #wildatlanticway#sligo#strandhill#spiritofsligo#sligofoodtrail http://www.seatrails.ie/?pagid=the-strandhill-shellfish-experience

Hey there. If you missed 'Getaways' travel programme last week, it's on BBC 1 this evening at 7.30pm. Last year, they came to Sligo and I had the pleasure of meeting presenter Joe Lindsay (very briefly!) at Streedagh while telling him about the Spanish Armada. Martin Enright talks about the Yeats history and Damien Brennan talks about his dining experience. Hope you enjoy it
Issue 11
This is a really nice publication on Sligo and all it has to offer for the adventure types, culturally curious, outdoor enthusiasts and those who love good food and great pubs. We wrote an article on the Spanish Armada for it and would encourage people to join us on our Spanish Armada Trail this year at beautiful Streedagh Strand. You can purchase the magazine online via http://discoversligo.com/
