The suns last light going into Dowth yesterday evening.
At Newgrange, its just a tiny slice of the sun's light that gets down the chamber. The rocks on the 19 metre passageway are angled, and the passageway goes up about 2 metres. The sunlight goes down along the shaft and hits the chamber. Those who have witnessed the real thing say that the whole chamber lights up evenly in a golden light, and that " the stones themselves appear to have light inside of them. " The picture is taken from ground level.
