SSCM
Description
SSCM was founded in 2007 to create opportunities for expert instrumental tuition in the contemporary and jazz genres in the Northwest. Today, we have over 100 students of all ages (8 to 80+) and 6 teachers.
The vision for our school is to nurture a life-long love for music of all genres by providing expert, professional tuition and to inspire our students of all ages to find and follow your own musical path and bring out your inner musician.
Contemporary music includes rock, reggae, jazz, country, pop and much more. We teach electric and acoustic guitar, bass, piano, keyboards, band-based keyboards, drums and percussion. We also provide a band mentorship programme, where groups of students can rehearse together in a professional rehearsal space, guided by expert tutors.
We tailor each lesson to suit your specific needs, whether you are a complete beginner or wish to advance your skills and learning. For those who wish to progress with exams, we follow the syllabus of RSL (Rockschool.co.uk) and our students can undergo their grade exams with us.
All our teachers have busy music careers alongside their teaching roles, and they are pleased to pass on their knowledge and current industry experience directly to you.
Sligo has a long history of embracing creativity and celebrating diversity. It is a city with a passion for live music, more so now than it ever was.
The first step of your musical journey begins here!
